Why adopt a cheesy bite?
Without a loving family it’s hard for a little bite to develop its full potential and live a successful life. Many orphaned bites end up in the gutter struggling day by day to survive. Even more unfortunate bites end up on the black market, a lawless underworld where the ethics of society don’t apply.
Orphaned bites on the street
At first glance Bill is just a regular bite, but abandoned at birth Bill was facing a long journey on a dark path. We sat down with Bill for a chat on a Sunday afternoon to talk about his experiences.

(Bill is not his real name)

Baby bites in incubators at the AFAOLB newborn centre.
So tell us, why were you abandoned?-I was a premature bite, you know, eager to see the world (Bill laughs at his own joke). No seriously, my dough wasn’t fully developed; I was a pale and very fragile little thing. No one gave me a chance, just straight out the back door I ended up in the gutter.

That must have been a terrible experience. But at the time did you understand why no one wanted you?-Maybe I did or maybe I didn’t, I mean you tell yourself anything really to stay alive and no one wants to believe that they’ve been rejected

Ok, lets talk about the every day life, how did you get by, and what kept you going?-I’ve always been a fast learner and I realized quickly that begging was the way forward. A few pennies here and there. Tube stations were good, shelter from the cold and it’s good money, especially if you have some musical talent. I usually did a medley of 80's love songs; it was a very appreciated routine at the time. (Bill starts to jam on his guitar “Penny Lover… you’re my one desire”

So, are you angry at society for not doing anything for you or other bites like you?-Sure, at the time no one even acknowledged this as a problem and that made me angry.  But what can you do, anger won’t get you anywhere and I had already seen and experienced so much anger. Anger, anger, anger. At that time in my life, anger was everywhere.
Finally, is there anything else you would like to tell our readers?-There’s this obsession with looks, the number one reason for leftover bites. I know that it has a lot to do with how bites are depicted in the media but at the end of the day we have a responsibility as individuals. We’re all made of the same dough, we share the same cheese and we all have the same ability to love.

Thanks for sharing you experiences with us today Bill.
